Alexander MacDonald

Alexander is the founder and principal equity investor of MacDonald Capital. Alexander has a double degree in Commerce and Engineering from the University of Sydney. Alexander has worked in project finance for over a decade and for the last 6 years has been employed by Plenary Group, a niche investment bank that specialises in infrastructure and property development financial advisory and investment.

Alexander has been involved in raising, structuring and managing debt and equity investments on some of Australia's largest infrastructure projects, including Sydney Metro CSW PPP (AUD$3.7bn), the WestConnex privatisation (AUD$16.8bn) as well as managing the recent refinance on behalf of the Toowoomba Second Range Crossing PPP equity investors ($400m).

Alexander has transferred these project finance skills to bespoke alternate fixed income loans, and has been originating, settling and managing a portfolio of loans on a continual basis for the past three years. Alexander established MacDonald Capital in 2020 in order to expand this portfolio and bring economic benefits to MacDonald Capital's financiers.
